GFH FORESTAL RESEARCH GROUP
Our group is formed by professionals and students working in training and research at the Forestry and Natural Environment Engineering School of the Technic University of Madrid. The group is included in two clusters of the Moncloa Campus of International Excellence: Global Change and New Energies, and Agro-Food and Health.
The activity is focused in plant breeding and conservation of forest genetic resources, and the studie of forest dynamics in response to disturbances. Particularly, analysis of strategies against forest fires or vulcanism (for the Canary Island pine), responses to abiotic and biotic stress in Pinus and Ulmus, intra and interspecific gene flow, and recovery of vulnerable populations of pines, oaks, beeches and elms.
